We had a wonderful stay at Venabu Mountain Hotel. We stayed few days in a cabin and few days in the hotel. Both were great. The cabin was very comfortable and cosy. Very quiet with everything you need. We even had a little sauna which was great after a dip in the lake or after horse riding.|The room in the hotel is also very comfortable. |The food is really excellent with top quality products and a great team of chefs/cooks.|You can explore the beautiful nature around directly by foot or with horses. The horses are excellent, good temper and sure footed.|The whole staff at the hotel is very friendly and caring.|Thank you again the whole team.

Fantastische (wandel) omgeving en zwemmeer voor de deur.
Ruim hotel met redelijk grote en schone kamers. Het gebouw is wat ouder maar dat heeft ook z'n charme.
Buiten is er rondom veel plek om te relaxen of te eten/drinken op de beschikbare banken en tafels, er zijn zelfs hangmatten.
Koffie en thee (incl) kan je meenemen naar buiten of je kamer.
Het hotel heeft veel faciliteiten en is service gericht.
Personeel is zeer gastvrij en behulpzaam.
Het ontbijtbuffet is uitgebreid en veel verse producten.
Het diner is dagelijks om 19uur en wij vonden het heerlijk. Op woensdag een Noors traditionele proeverij is een aanrader (reserveren is aan te bevelen).
Kortom genieten van vakantie in Noorwegen zoals het hoort!!

Atmosfære, gjestfrihet, mat, beliggenhet, yogatimene og rideturene er i særklasse. Du skal lete lenge for å finne en gruppe mennesker som virker å elske jobben sin og andre mennesker så sterkt. Jeg skal selvfølgelig tilbake. Lokal og kortreist mat som smakte fortreffelig og elsker fokuset de har på dyrevelferd med tanke på hvordan de driver stallen. Anbefales!!!

Ikke det mest "fansy"-hotellet. Gammelt og tradisjonsrikt med sjel. Lokal mat servert med stolthet. Familie eiet 3`dje generasjon.

A welcoming hotel offering excellent value for money. The food is outstanding, with 3 course set menu evening meals including a Norwegian speciality night on Wednesdays. The breakfast buffet is extensive with the option to prepare a generous packed lunch including sandwiches, salad, fruit, cake etc. The smoked trout in the breakfast buffet is sublime.||Rooms are simple and the ensuite bathrooms are a little dated in appearance, but the showers are hot and powerful, the heating is effective and the views are stunning. The hotel has a very large lounge area with a wide range of board games, free access to a huge array of hot drinks, knitting wool, pool, table football etc. There is live music on some evenings. The ski hire on site is convenient and good quality, and the hotel provides access to a wide array of varied circular ski routes which are more than sufficient to keep you occupied for a week. I would definitely return!

We stayed at the Venabu Mountain Hotel for a week-long club Nordic ski trip with 19 persons and can't say enough good things about the Venabu hotel. The Venabu provides a full suite of services including full board including hot lunch, ski rentals, ski guiding, sleigh rides, yoga, evening music, evening cultural seminars and many more. The food was simply delicious and featured traditional Norwegian and local fare. The skis for rent were high performance and the ski guides added so much to our trip. They selected our daily tour considering the weather and conditions, the groups desires and other factors that so enhanced our skiing experience. The hotel also offers a bus pickup service to and from Oslo airport which greatly aided our getting to the hotel which is about 3 hours north of Oslo airport in a semi-remote area. The hotel also offers shuttle service to/from the local train station that is on the Oslo/Trondheim main line. The hotel has a spacious lobby for socializing, game room and lounge; plus a gift shop. The ski shop offers full ski maintenance services. The Venabu also offers off-track ski guiding and equipment which was spectacular and some of our participants thought was a special experience. ||And all this was offered at a good value.

So far, it was one of the best experiences I had. Hotel is at perfect location and extremely cozy. The place has homy and warm atmosphere. Perfect for resting.
The room could be slightly larger but considering that it is an old building, it is acceptable.
They have very nice common facilities for relaxing. Tea and coffee is free through out the day.
Cross-country skii facilities and instructors are ver good!
And the dinners were very delicious. Local food with local ingredients.
Staff very very friendly and helpful.
And of course I cannot forget to mention Clemens and his silent but lovely companionship.

What a great hotel and gastronomic restaurant, fantastically located on a hill giving great views on the Fjells. The hotel is a family-owned hotel for many generations The setting and decoration has not changed for decades. It’s like you went back about 50 years in a time capsule. This setting in combination with truly fantastic service levels, makes this visit a one you well never forget. Many cosy corners/settings for lovely conversations, library, fireplace, TV-room/Cinema, game room with many traditional Norwegian games etc etc. Great service for cross country skiing (guides, advice, rentals, lessons). Almost forgot the restaurant. Amazing lunches with a set buffet gives you the opportunity to taste fantastic local dishes. The set dinner was also great. We enjoyed a fantastic four course dinner (see the pictures) All in all, a go to place if you like a fantastic retreat in a cosy environment. Absolutely a recommended go to place.
