We had a great one night stay at the Hemmingodden Lodge. The location is great, right on the edge of the harbor in the town of Ballstad. There is a Joker supermarket just 3 minutes walk away where you can get groceries and inexpensive dinner items. Although our room was advertised as “sea view”, it was, just barely, but still really nice. We had a 2-storey unit with the living area, basic kitchenette, and bathroom on the ground floor and the sleeping area up the ladder on the 2nd floor. The place was spacious, bright, and warm with plenty of windows. There was no TV but the Wifi internet worked really well and we just watched programs on our computer. The bed was comfy and the area was quiet so we ended up having a great sleep. Just a warning: the steps up to the bedroom are very, very steep (like a ladder) and may not be suitable for the elderly and very young. Overall we had a great stay and would highly recommend this place to other travelers.

Be advised that this is by no means a 3 star hotel. While the rooms we stayed in were very nice (Brygge) the overall lack of service was appalling. When we arrived there were no towels in our room. Although we had to wait two hours to get some as someone apparently had to drive from far away to open the door with linens, we thought it was no big deal. That actually should have been a sign of things to come. We were there for a week and at no time did anyone come to even empty the trash let alone give us fresh towels beyond the one person we were initially given. We could live with that, but the real inconvenience was that the front desk was only ever staffed three hours a day. They said there was a phone number you could call and get a quick response but we did not find that to be the case ( it sometimes took four hours before anyone responded). Mind you this was during peak tourist season. The co sequence of this is you have to be very strategic in order to be able to use the sauna (they need to turn it on an hour before you can use it) or booking anything like fishing tours, etc. all that we could live with if we had been warned but the attitude of the woman staffing the front desk was very off putting. I witnessed a woman asking for a blanket because none had been provided onto witness the attendant be rude to her and then roll her eyes at me as if the woman was asking for something ridiculous. The lack of staff presence was also troubling when the electricity went out as no one was responsive to tell us what had happened or when we could expect it to come back on (it was getting late at night and I use a cpap when I sleep so was very anxious that I wouldn't be able to use it). Luckily the power came back on after about 45 minutes, but we never heard anything from anyone at hemmingoden about this. ||In short, it is a lovely location, but it is a low service hotel. As long as you go into it knowing this you will be fine.

Nous avions un très bel appartement avec une super vue (port et montagne). C'était l'appartement G1 (vue variable selon les appartements). Cabine moderne, spacieuse et bien équipée. Chambre à l'étage (attention escalier très raide).

Sistemazione più che sufficiente nel paesino di Ballstad, ma potrebbe fare qualcosa in più per essere una sistemazione di livello superiore. I lodge sono moderni, carino l'arredamento, ma sia la pulizia esterna (vetri sporchi e molte ragnatele) sia la mancanza di alcuni elementi come il fornello, rendono l'appartamento incompleto. Tutti i servizi sono da pagare extra (colazione, asciugamani extra, sauna), ma almeno la sauna sarebbe potuta essere inclusa nel prezzo per gli ospiti della struttura.
In sintesi bel lodge, ma peccato si perda su alcuni dettagli, soprattutto a fronte di un prezzo molto importante (quasi 200€ a notte).

Le stanze probabilmente sono tutte uguali, ma per quattro è veramente improponibile: una volta aperto il divano letto al pianterreno non c è spazio nemmeno per poggiare le valige; non si può dare una stanza doppia spacciandola per quafrupla, tra L altro il materasso del divano letto era laido ; nessun prodotto per la doccia, nemmeno monouso; |Scale per andare alla camera da letto sopra molto impervie, non adatte a persone oltre una certa età

Logement clair et spacieux, bien équipé, avec vue directe sur la mer. Dommage que la coursive qui le longe soit très fréquentée par des pêcheurs, des gens d'autres logements à proximité, voire des clients du restaurant à coté qui viennent voir la mer, car on ne se sent pas totalement chez soi.|Personnel agréable, machine à laver/sèche-linge (payant) à disposition (un seul pour tout le complexe, il peut y avoir une file d'attente).|Noter que le petit déjeuner qui était inclus dans notre logement consistait en un panier repas (complet au demeurant) et non un buffet comme on aurait pu s'y attendre

Beware - not accessible at all! Nowhere did it say that the bedroom was a loft at the top of a steep ladder. We couldn’t get up to the bedroom. The front desk is only staffed for 3 hours each day and none of those hours are anywhere near check-in time. We tried to see if any of the rooms had a bedroom on the main floor but there’s no staff on site at all! We called the phone number and they said they’d be there in a few hours. We ended up losing the money and staying at a much nicer hotel down the street. So disappointed and feeling very misled!

Do Not Stay Here! The owner/manager(?) subscribes to the theory that all elements of msnagement can be done without any humans onsite. When we got there, we discovered that the crsmped bedrooms in the units are actually in a tiny loft only accessible by ladder! We are in our 70s and 80s and even if we could negotiate the ladder, bringing our luggage up to the low- ceilinged bedroom woyld be almost impossible.There is no onsite management except at the restaurant, and only after 6 pm! The owner/ manager(?) when we finally reached her by phone said she could not guarantee she could swap us to an accessible room when the restaurant employee who handles these things showed up at 6 pm. We could not take the chance that other lodging might be available after 6 pm so we frantically searched until we found another place in Ballstad with accessible rooms. The owner/manager who placed us in tbis predicament by dishonesly failing to disclose the room accessibility issue and failing to provide alternative accessible lodging at this establishment then added insult to injury by refusing to refund our money. I am willing to bet that any favorable reviews of this place are in fact paid frsudulent reviews. Take my advice and do not patronize this establishment!
